My first son is now 3 years old, and he has been a Nick games fan for almost 1 years. He started to learn to use a computer for the first time at around 2 years old by playing kids games at NickJr.com. He knows many Nick characters such as Dora, Diego, Spongebob, Wonder Pets, The Backyardigans (he doesn’t know the title Backyardigans so he calls it Pablo). The shows and the games that are available keep him entertained for hours.
When we first discovered Nick.com, I had to show my son how to operate the computer. Controlling the mouse and getting the cursor to go where he wanted it to was the most difficult part. It didn’t take too long and now he is able to use the mouse without any difficulties. Since I have bookmarked the Nick.com for him, he can start playing without any assistance. He now knows the sequence to play: turn on the laptop, click Windows Start button, click the Firefox icons, then find my bookmarks, and the rest is up to him. We play the educational games together while my little one is napping. I ask my son to answer some simple questions during the games. If he can answer the questions correctly, I give him a reward such as cheering and applauding for him. Sometimes we get a little crazy and we jump up and down and do a little dance, or sometimes I sneak in a little treat like candy.
There are a lot of games on Nick.com. My son’s favorites games are Dora, Go Diego Go and Sponge Bob. The games are categorized into many various types such as adventure games, racing games, board games, arcade games and sports games. This site is terrific, it is a learning experience for any age, and it is so much fun. I would suggest grandparents, parents, babysitters, anyone who has children in their lives to spend some time with your kids on Nick.com, you will have fun while spending quality time with your child.
